Re: one-wheel burnout

your posi is worn out. a positraction rear end is just an open rear with conical clutch packs to limit the spin of one tire under acceleration. so when the clutches wear out, you got a one legger. time for a rebuild. or better yet, upgrade to a torsen

Re: one-wheel burnout

lol, what can i say, im quiiiick and yeah, irony is great, but under acceleration with the tires not breaking loose, both tires are putting down power, but when you accelerate enough for the tires to break traction, the one tire will get all the power, and the other tire just kinda drags.

A little off topic here, but perhaps a little on topic as well.

I thought the differencial should to that job. At least is does that on my regular car.

EDIT:
Forgot to mention that there is no clutch in my rear end, just hard gears. If something slips there.... The whole rear end must be rebuilt, or changed.... But they only slip if they run low on oil or the oil is worn out.

Re: one-wheel burnout

depends on what rear end you have, open rears are a loose connection of the axles at best, and both axles turning opposite directions at worst. (spinning one tire while rolling backwards down a hill) posi is a step up, torsen is a torque biasing gear driven rear, and a locker solidly links the two axles together. so there really is no one stop answer for it all

Re: one-wheel burnout

just a tip,
Shouldnt use lockers or welded axles on street or daily drivers.. They were meant for straight line racing.. Going around corners, your L and R rear tires turn at different speeds.. A locker will prevent this.. It'l chew up your tires, car will corner like shit, and eventually wreck your rear end as well..
