Random misfire-HELP

Posted: April 15 2004,7:23

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the battle of the intermittant long crank and near impossible starting. Now I am getting a random misfire code. Have seen codes for cyl 3 & 5 misfires, 02 sensor heater circuit, and random misfire. In the last month the new parts are, cap, rotor, wires, coil, ign. module, crank sensor. Platnum plugs have only 20,000 miles on them and cyl 1&3 (the only 2 I pulled so far) look good. Can't find any vac. leaks, EGR seems to function properly. Fuel pump is 6-7 months old with only about 8,000 miles. Pressure hits 60 with when key turned on, 54 while running. Was holding steady at 50+ for almost 12 hours, tonight after about 1-1.5 hour it has dropped to about 35psi. After all the other stuff, am I looking at needing a spider? I have to get this figured out by next Thurs, will be towing our camper about 250 miles and can't afford to beak down. I am hearing strange fluid noises in the intake when I cycle the key (Never noticed that before)

98 astro, 135,000 miles, vin W, CSFI.

Please Help, about to put myself in for mental care!!!!

Thanks
Mike

Hello all,
I kind of figured you were all stumped we brought the van to A Chevy dealer and they told us that it is the number 3 injector. I hope this helps anyone else in the future.
