Re: no brake lights
Have you tested the brake light switch? It's a normally closed switch.
If you put an ohmmeter across it-it'll read continuity until you push the button. Then it'll read open. If you get infinite resistance when you first connect the meter-the switch is bad internally. |

Re: no brake lights
Remove and check the fuse! If you have one brake light that shorts to ground, or another circuit, like the parklamp circuit, the fuse will blow, but if you test it it might seem ok!(with a test light or voltmeter). Check all the brake lights before replacing the fuse if it's bad (or it'll just blow again!) be sure to check the damn 3rd brake lights too!
Next, check the firewall connector, and the lighting connector below the column on the firewall. Last, check your body ground (maybe make this first) at the battery to the body, and to the front and rear 12V cigar plugs(good ground source) to the tail lights. If either one's bad, you'll lose your brakelights. "Never underestimate the power of overlooking what you didn't expect to be the problem anyway". ![]() Slantsixness
