Rear door
1994 Explorer rear door will not open from inside. Child lock is in the down position, unlocked. I have removed the pannel and there is nothing obvious that is wrong. Problem started when the door was opened from the inside, and the handle was stuck in the open position. Any suggestions?

Re: Rear door
Talking about the rear side doors..... The plastic handles are prone to break the internal gear teeth. This happens when people pull too hard on them. Probably because the grease on the latch mech has dried out. Handle is only about $16 and easy to replace. Had to get two new ones when I bought my 97 used. Still didn't work with new one till I pumped tons of oil on the latch mech and gently worked the handlle more than two dozen times. Handle pushes on a very thin wire that easily bends if it meets any resistance. Put oiling on regulat maintenance.
