Re: Carbon Fiber Hood Problems

You need a hairdryer and put it with that because it becomes so hot that it gets shaped into form!

Re: Carbon Fiber Hood Problems

First, CF is for patient ppl

a Hood usualy take me between 30 to 80 minutes nonstop work.

You need good quality decal, cos you will work on it for long and will be hard on it.. SAS, SMS and Meseum Collection decals are very good for that.

you Will need to would with your finger and a very soft coton. Also consider working with Microsol Stuff.

... real CF my ass. And btw, real cf takes time to make. Even scaled down it'd take a few weeks to do.

I'm glad some one here knows a thing or two. I do lots of fiberglass work. CF come in 9oz. There is know freakin way you could put real CF on a 1/24 hood, it would be thick as hell, not to mention you need to put about 3layers on for it too look correct. Also, the pattern is huge. Another thing, 3-5 minutes, now you are smoking something. Fiberglass epoxy resin takes at least 45minutes to kick, then 24hours to cure. Fiberglass, especially CF takes at least 30minutes for vary plain slight task.

What the hell are you trying to pull?

Thanks DJ, I spent about 3 hours making the hood perfect. Came out pretty good. I shot it with some clear, it looks excellent, Thanks for the tip.
