d16y7 headers for civic

I own a 96 civic dx hatch with d16y7. I want to upgrade to aftermarket headers. All headers I have seen on ebay(eesh, i know) are for d16y8-9 or d15. What can I buy to fit on my car with out serious mods and a lot of money?

You COULD go with Y8/9 headers, but you'd have to match it to an EX spec cat converter, and an EX exhaust system, or aftermarket system made for EX's. Not very many headers on the market for our lowly Y7 motors that I also have as well. Also keep in mind, that on the Y7 motors, the cat converter is built INTO the stock exhaust manifold, so as soon as you swap out to an aftermarket header, you can then wave goodbye to your cat converter, and hello to a constant light of your check engine light or CEl for short since the 2nd O2 sensor won't be getting correct emissions readings.

I already have a cat back and aftermarket cat on my civic now, both of which where specific for 96-98 civic hatch(so it said). I had to purchase a cat to reach the headers. Everything bolts up true right now.It also had a o2 sensor on the cat which i plugged, no problems there, I'm convinced that if I buy Y8/9 headers everything will line up right. I heard that d16y7 headers have two o2 sensors, and d16y8-9 only one, is that true? anyways,Thanks for your fast reply silverY2kcivic, you've been a big help.

Yup true, because on EX's the 2nd O2 sensor goes after the catalytic.
