Transmission Problem

Can anyone give me some ideas of what could be wrong?
im not sure of the transmission model, im thinking it is a 4L60E, anyway, the Blazer rearend was torn out when it he tried to spin the tires in a parking lot, it tore up the differential gears, case and all. that has been fixed. But now in the process of tearing the rearend up, something is damaged in the transmission. when you try to drive it it will accelerate, but will not change out of the first gear, also it seems when you let off the accelerater and and then try to accelerate, it seems to slip, but never changes gears. when you are sitting still and move the column shifter from park to drive it goes in smooth, then to reverse, it goes in smooth. I checked the Throttle valve cable, it checks fine.
I removed the pan today to see if i could find anything, I found several small pieces of metal that looked like possibly small gear teeth, and another metal piece that looked like it had broken off something, and also a small chip of hard plastic material. I dont see anything broke fom what i can see from just removeing the pan. so im thinking it is more internal.
I hope I have described this problem well enough to be able to figure out something. anyone have any ideas?

Re: Transmission Problem

you have a 700r4 tranny easly confused with the 4l60e because they use the same case. anyway only one thing you can do, change the tranny. I've seen 700r's go for 400 canadian with a shift kit used of course

Re: Transmission Problem

Sounds To Me Like You Tore Up One Of Your Clutch Packs, Metal Fell Into The Valvebody, Hung The Valves And There You Have It. Lay That Horse Down, Shoot It And Buy Anotherone
