Re: Engine Is Runing Bad

Are you getting any "check-engine" or other warnings?

Re: Engine Is Runing Bad

My 1st thought is something not connected properly...
I'd start with the OBD-I codes, with any luck that'll tell you exactly what's going on.

Get yourself a cheapie code reader (OBD-I) from WalMart, AutoZone, or the likes.

Code definitions are all over the net, and a reference guide comes with the code reader too.

A reader will cost anywhere from $15 to $35 for a cheapie.. you'll not need to spend $200 for a great reader.

Absolutely especially if something's not connected correctly, and/or malfunctioning.
If a sensor is throwing a "check engine" code, and the computer is trying to compensate for the bad data from the sensor, it'll run bad.

One more thing to consider.. every time the computer is taken offline it must re-learn normal running adjustments. This includes fuel mixture, and many other settings. It normally takes 50-75 miles of normal driving for the computer to fully learn it's normal functions for the environment.

Check with these guys too

No I don't have the spec's for the 3.6L. Mines a 4.6 and that's all I have, I doubt that would do you any good.

You might try the other board link I posted earlier for the timing spec.
