Squadron putty is horrible for building bodykits, anyone will tell you that. I suggest getting some Tamiya Epoxy Putty. It gets hard as a rock if not harder.

What you should get for building a body kit:
Lots of sandpaper
Files
Styrene (.020, and .040)
Tamiya Epoxy Putty (A Pack or Two)
Sandable Primer

i got sand paper, squadron putty, quite a few files, and lots of primer. i will be buying some styrene soon!

i used squadron putty on a old civic HB i had i molded a WBK and it was some great stuff. i used the green putty and i tried to redo the car, and there was no way to get the putty off. but i will maybe pick up some tamiya putty.

No problem. I used the Squadron White Putty once, it take forever to dry. I put it under a 300watt floodlight and it wouldnt dry.

Re: Aoshima wheels

I have only had headaches with the Squadron white but really like the Squadron green.

Definitely good advice on the Tamiya epoxy putty, it's good stuff and really useful for scratch building.

Good luck with trying to make a bodykit, I've seen your skills over in 1/43 scale. Im looking forward in seeing what you can do in 1/24-1/25 scale.

yea my 1/43rd scale body kits were ok not the best, but they were so small just to hard to work with and sand and make perfect, thats why i moved back to larger 1/24 and 1/25 scale cars. i have done 1 other body kit on a larger scale car and it wasnt that bad. i will be making most of my kit from styrene and then filling it with minor putty. i want to avoid using alot of putty.
