i want to buy new 6x9 speakers, and im wondering, what has good highs, and decent bass, right now for the highs, i plan on getting the mb quart 6x9, but i rather get the pioneer 5 way 6x9, also pioneer n mb quart seem to have no bass at all soo yea im kinda confuzed, i jus want good highs/mids, and DECENT BASS u guys have any sugggestions? |

Re: No Bass At All
Have you checked the settings in your headunit or amp (if they're amped)? It's possible you have a highpass set pretty high, cutting off all the low frequencies. You might also just want to bump up the 80hz region in your eq to help them out. It really depends on what you mean by bass. Do you mean sub bass? Do you mean mid bass? 6x9s generally have a good bit of midbass due to their cone size, but they don't have great sub bass. Then again that's what your sub is there for, so I don't really know what the problem is...

well im using a alpine 9807 head unit, the treble and the bass can both be set from -7 to +7, i set the subwoofer level to 80hz with +0 and i set the trebel to 12.5khz (i think) with +5, ok i just tried turning up the bass, n turning down the treble, i turned the treble to 12.5khz at +0, and the bass +7 (max) and there is finally bass, but, barely any bass, mostly midrange bass, nothing deep, i guess pioneer speakers aren't made for bass? the bass sounds kind of like the stock speakers i just replaced, but the highs are really good
the problems is, im going to sell my sony subs, then with that money im going to buy a pair of 6x9 speakers, and a 4 channel amp, and in that time i won't have subs (probably for over a month), but now that i think of it, you're right, i WILL have subs sooner or later, i shouldn't worry about the bass.. so what do u recommend for GOOD HIGHS, and ok mids? and i guess i really need to play around with the settings, thx |

Re: No Bass At All
I have the Alpine 9827...and I use the Media Expander to make it sound better. Then change the type too...hold the button down to do that I think. Mine seems ok.
