Weird Sub Problems
My right sub keeps wanting to cut out all the time, and when I take right or left turns it always comes back on. I know its the right one because when I set the balance all the way to the right, there is no bass. I already checked the wires inside the box and theyre fine, and the 2 subs are bridged on the amp so it cant be the channels on the amp. I dont know much about what it could be inside the amp, but I hope its that and not the sub since one of my subs cost most than the shitty amp. I checked the wires from the hookups to the cone and those were perfectly fine too. I dont think it could be my headunit, cause its a brand new Alpine and if it was that I would be pissed. But thats the only thing that cuts out is the right subwoofer, and Im totally clueless to why it does that. I have had to solder the power back onto the circuit board a couple of times...so maybe a conflict is happening there. If anyone has had this happen and fixed it...let me know.

if it's just one sub and they're wired together then it's a problem with the sub or the wiring to the sub, there is no other option.

Im confused dammit...it happens with deep bass and going up and down hills, and turns. I thought of possible RCA weirdness but that wouldnt work cause they go on tight. Im afraid its the damn wire coming off the cone...it looks fine though.

It absolutely cannot be anything before the amp, or the amp itself. It is the wiring to the sub or the sub itself, not the amp, headunit, rcas, or anything else.

Alright...I took the sub out and put the Balance all the way to the right and turned it up alittle so I could see if it was moving. It hardly moves when the balance is set to the right, but when its in the middle they are actually both moving, but not getting the normal power that I thought was one sub before. I can still hear it jump in and out of loudness when Im driving down the road. Also, when its balanced all the way to the left, they are both moving alot too. Im just confused as hell now...because it has to be the amp or the headunit. Couldnt the headunit be sending a weaker signal to the amp when the balance is set to the right? And also...it gets MUCH louder when it...gets louder. Thats about the only way to put it because I am stumped. The subs are fine, the amp is cheap, the headunit is brand new, and the RCAs should be fine...theyre Phoenix Golds. Any advice now?

Gha ha ha...low and behold it was my positive RCA connection..since there no place to hold the CD player up in the mounts, the RCA was pinching and kinda pulling out...works now though. But thanks anyway for telling me it was everything but that!

Well you said that only one sub was getting quieter, since they're both getting quieter then it could be something before the amp. We can't tell you the right things to check if you tell us something wrong
