Won't start

I have a 2002 Tahoe that when parked in a down hill position with 1/4 tank of gas or less won't start. Cranks over but nothing. Has happened 3 times in the last 2 months. Twice I added a few gallons of gas and it started. Other times I rocked it by rolling and finally got it going. After reading many posts I feel that the fuel pump may be the problem. I starts great all the rest of the times. Is this a coincidence or could this be the downward slant? Don't want to go to the trouble of dropping a tank if not required..

I'd say it's the downward slant. On a '95 model, when I used to get low on fuel, my engine would shut off whenever I applied the brakes. I guess the fuel pickup is at/near the rear of the tank?

Keep it above 1/4 tank--all the impurities in the gas settle into that (or is it an old wives' tale?) More; when you park you vehicle without alot of fuel in the tank, the changes in temperature over the course of day (and especially night) can cause condensation and water in your fuel.
