Model shops eh? Don't you mean walmart?
Just kidding!
There's this place call Imperial Hobbies where I get most of my stuff
this is their website http://www.imphobbies.com/

Another shop I go to is Wing's Corner, in Richmond Public Market.

Personally, I think the stuff in the shops here (Vancouver) are all over priced. You can get much better deals on HLJ even after shipping and duty fees.

just my 2 cents

:hehe: Little bit of a culture gap here.

Initial D is a 'Manga/Anime' from Japan. About street racers or something like that. I havent' seen it myself but I've heard it's pretty sweet! I might get the DVD collection sometime here soon.

Manga = Japanese comic books
Anime = Japanese animation

Usually these are not made for kids.

Initial D is a Comic/Anime from Japan about street/touge(mountain) racers. The main character is a 18 year old high school student by the name "Fujirawa Takumi" Since he was 13, every morning at 4am, he would help his dad deliver Tofu to Hotels on the other side of town driving his dad's AE86 Sprinter Trueno(aka, Corolla GTS in the US). Returning home, he would speed home through the Akina mountain(central location of the story). From this, he develops incredible driving and drifting(kind of like a "Control power slide") skills. Throught out the story, many teams and people from all around Japan would come and challenge Takumi for downhill races. Cars that he defeats include: RX-7 (FC&FD), Skyline BNR32, Civic EG6, Sileighty, Silvia S14, LanEvo (III&IV)...and the list goes on.

What made this Cartoon series so popular is because of 3 main things.
1) Drifting is very big in Japan, as big as drag racing is for America
2) The god like skills and technic that Takumi uses in the cartoon are simily amazing. Imagine a 130hp 80's Corolla beating a 4WD 400hp Skyline R32.
3) The race scenes on the anime are all done on the computer and the results is just like watching GT3 replays on your PS2

And why do I like it so much? I drive an AE86 too
