Clock and Radio reset themselves
I recently bought a 1990 Honda Accord EX, and after setting the clock and plugging in my fav. radio stations, they get reset when the car turns off. It seems to take a while because driving to the store or something and coming back, the clock is still set, but overnight when i get up in the morning its back to reading 1:00.
I'm not too savvy with cars so I have no idea what the problem could be, any help is appreciated.

Well, it's probably electrical
 Do you have any problem starting your car? What about blown fuses?

Is it a stock radio? If not (and maybe even if it is) it could be wrongly wired, with the "always on" line connected to the "ign on" feed.
Otherwise a fuse is a possibility - I don't know offhand what other circuits (if any) are on the fuse that controls the radio's "always on" feed.

the yellow wire on the back of the radio needs to be hooked up to a power wire that is hot all the time. this is your memory wire. the red wire needs to be hooked up to a wire that is hot only when the key is on.

I'm going to be bringing it to a friend this weekend to look at (along with some other minor kinks) the automatic seatbelts also don't work.
Now if it's as simple as a wire in the back of the radio, what about the clock at the top of the dashboard. And yes it is the stock radio, I'll be replacing it in about 2 weeks.

well the seat belts are probably a blown or missing fuse and the clock may be on the same circuit.
hopefully your friend will be able to figure it all out for you. it sounds like who ever had the car before you probably changed the radio out and when the put the stock one back in they did not get all the wires right.

Clock & Radio reset
Interesting - my 2002 Accord EX just reset the clock and turned off the radio (no sound, no display) while I was driving - at the same time, the Check Engine light came on - about 1 second later the radio came back on. The check engine light remained on for about 25 miles, then shut off. I also experienced a somewhat rough idle during that time - normally the smoothest running engine I have ever owned, it has since smoothed out. My guess is some electrical "event" reset the car's computer causing the rough idle until the engine readjusted itself - the radio and clock were just victims of the same event. Of course the question is "What was the event?" I hate to pay the Honda dealer $70 to hook up to his computer just to be told everything appears normal, which is what I would expect from such a transient event. Anyone else experience this?
