the much talked about F&F eclipse

Yes I know..I know.. More F&F eclipse questions.. it's addictive isn't it? Anyways.. Before you freak out on me...yes I have read the other thread that referred to this question but it isn't answered so here it goes again.. What are the Interior specs of the F&F eclipse? It is driving me insane...mainly the pedals and shift knob..I've done research and I can't seem to find them...

well when you post in an older thread it brings it right back up to the top and puts an arrow on it... letting everyone know that someone has posted in it and they havent read it yet, then once you click on it, the arrow goes away! so when you post in an old thread everyone sees that it was brought back for some reason, then usually they will check it out!!!

what are you building a replica I love the 2g eclipse and modding the hell out of it but i can honestly say that that car is the epitamy of all that is wrong with the sport compact scene
1. to many stickers to count (like he had that many sponsors) laaaaamme.
2. it was in the same movie as that Vin Diesel jackass
3. it had a friggin roof scoop (I see no function in the form here)
4. why spend that much on a carbon fiber hood to lose weight, if your going to add weight (body kit, neons huge, roof scoop etc)
5. it does nothing but flaunt how much money was spent. and advertise.
6. now every ricer in the planet wants to add nos and blows their shit up cause they couldn't buy a cluuuee. (that's actually a plus to me)
7. yes it helped mitsubishi but when they put out the 3g they took a huge dump on their enthusists.
8. there is an idiot ricer that copied that car here to a T and i smoke him like left over bud. then he cries and goes home. he gets no respect from the teenage ricers either (which is sad to say the least).
the movie sucked the car is sacralige van diesel is gay it had a stupid sequel, ludacris sucks .the end
9. who cares what shifter nob he had. if you want this info mr. skyline find a ff fanclub and ask them.

i like the movie. even though most of it was hollywood. i still thought it was better then watching a love comedy

well... to answer the question... and to combat some of the things that slowgsowner said. Here is my input.

The answer to your question:
The interior of the eclipse consisted of sparco torino race seats, a sparco shift knob, and sparco racing pedals. the groovy little pop up tv thinger was a clarion and the thing you saw come up was the equalizer function for a stereo. the switches he flipped, were simply toglle switches that made pretty little lights come on that served absolutely NO purpose.

Now for slowgsowner:
The movie may have been unrealistic and full of bad acting. but it is responsible for sending the import scene into the whirlwind it is today.

1.) He has a troy lee designs graphic on the side... and maybe three sponsor stickers. All of which were companies who actually DID donate parts to the "hero" car. which is the one that actually WAS dope as hell.

2.) The car was also a show car.. so the roof scoop may not have served any purpose in the performance area but did add some asthetic appeal.

3.) have you ever held a body kit? and then held a stock bumper in your other hand? Body kits (fiberglass at least) are NOT HEAVY. why does everyone think this? the difference in wieght is so miniscule! if you buy a poly kit.. yes it will weigh more. but 85% of kits are glass. By adding a body kit, you may add 5 lbs of weight.. MAYBE 10. by adding a CF hood... you loose 40. plus, once again, looks are great. Neons, wiegh about as much as a roll of paper towels when they're wet. NOT a big problem when you've got a "t4" hahahaha.

4.) it was built for the simple purpose of flaunting it's image and looking good. thats what the purpose of the whole movie is. aside from drag racing.. the import scene is all about looking good! there's nothing wrong with building a car for the simple purpose of advertising. our shop has 3 of them!!

5.) NOS is a company... Nitrous Oxide Systems. it is not a chemical. I have a wonderful write up on nitrous that I would be more than happy to post should anyone want to see it. While I have no personal experience with using nitrous I have installed it. I know many people that do use it, and when installed properly... it's pretty hard to "blow your engine to shit"

6.) The 3g mitsubishi was built by chrysler, in america. I have a very good friend who owns an 02 GT and I personally am starting to like the car. Not as much as my 2g, but it is still nice. It's just a different look, designed by a different company. DSM is gone... sad but true. The 3G may be a completely different car but it also has it's own following that is steadily growing in size. along with the aftermarket parts area for the vehicle.

7.) a car is built to please it's owner... not YOU. wow... you were able to "smoke" another car. perhaps he can't drive. perhaps his car is "gay" regardless... he may suffer from a lack of originality and he thought that the F&F eclipse was the shit. so he built one. who cares about getting respect from ricers. I used to care.. then I realized that it doesn't mean shit as long as I like my car. How many other cars can you smoke? and do you cry when you lose?

8.) vin diesle will kick your ass, ludacris made more money off that movie than you will ever be able to contemplate in a lifetime.. no matter how gay it was. The cars are all built by a studio design team... so if you want to blame anyone.. blame them. all they do is go out and find out whats selling and what is considered "hot" and put it on the car to please people.

Finally, this is an "eclipse" forum... where you go to ask questions about the mitsubishi eclipse. He had a question about one. so he posted in a perfectly fine place. However much you may hate the movie, don't go apeshit on a kid who may have liked the shift knob and pedal set he saw in the car. You are more than entitled to your opinion.. and all of this is simply MY opinion. The movie.. had horrible acting, clueless actors and scrpt writers and some pretty cheezy parts. BUT it made the scene what it is now.. and is responsible for supporting the shop and making people in my shitty as town interested in imports and keeping me off welfare. So there you have my 2 cents. the movie sucked, the sequal sucked, they were nice looking cars. They had good parts. and were never driven over 40 mph. ding ding ding... I'm done
