Nice Sprite! Some folks across the pond call 'em frogeyes as well.

Gunze/GSI Creos just reissued a new batch of them, the $32 price at Hobbyco is insane...it's 1200 yen at Hobbylink Japan, which is less than $12.00, plus shipping. It's even cheaper at hobbyworld.

I've got an older Sprite vintage racer kit by Gunze (it's long out of production), it's going to be a really fun build when I get around to it.

I have one of the ze Kits from HLJ. It seems pretty good, but is very basic, ie no engine etc. I am in the process of building it, maybe I could send you some pictures or start a thread if you are interested.

yeah, my pas got a 59 with a 1275 and datsun 5spd that just came back from rivergate. were taking it back down to the gap next week...

i thought it would be cool to do a model, but $32 kinda sucks. i want to maybe do some cars from the last open road instead. not sure yet

Re: anyone know of a bugeye sprite kit?

I'd like to do one of these with a F20C Honda engine (S2000 motor) and modern rims, seats, cage etc, or maybe one with a Sakatsu 2T-G toyota and RS-watanabes, period seats, escort MK1 style bubble flares....
Does Gunze do the Spridget style body as well? I'm not sure whether I prefer the bugeye or the "mini-MGB" style of the later front/rear treatment...I think the later style would have more room for scratchbuilding an engine bay etc though..
