Fast sonata

I was just wondering how fast some of your sonata's can go. My moms 99 GLS V6 auto stock got op to 90 once, but we had to slow down right away.

Re: Fast sonata

We knew we could do more, but we were like 3 feet away from being in the middle of a 4 way intersection in a city, so we had to give those breaks all they got!!!!

Re: Fast sonata

I hit 130 racing someone and then backed off it. It felt like it could do more but it probably would only do like 5 mph more.

I test drove a '04 GLS V-6. The dealer was telling me to punch it. That piece of shit took forever to get speed up and started to wimp out close to 100 mph. Doubt it would hit 110mph. As for the four banger sonata the only thing your gonna beat in a race is the city bus.

110? are you joking?

I have a 2000 Sonata GLS V6 and I raced it up to 135 once.. and the '04 is 2.7L... my dad has one.. I'd say if you had a nice stretch of road the '04 could do about 145-150

Re: Fast sonata

I'm assuming you don't buy a Sonata for Racing?

Re: Fast sonata

I would just get one for the looks. They are tight as hell looking. It would be nice just to have one with a GM engine. LOL

hehe of course you don't buy a Sonata for racing... but it's still got nice power and the feel is pretty luxurious.. and the engine is pretty much the same as the V6 Tiburon.. so I had to push it. Shit I kept up with a mustange and an Audi A6... so just the fact that they didnt leave me in the dust impressed me

My friend has a 2000 Solara se v6 3.0l automatic. We raced on a industrial road on a weekend and from a dead stop we were dead even till my car shifted to second and I started to pull away and then I just left him. I have a 99 sonata gls 2.5l v6. We're going to do it again when the weather gets better and i'll record it. We were both amazed at what happened. Not only do I love this car but now I know it really is pretty quick. Can't wait to do some things to it.

How fast

I have a 1995 sonata with 125k miles on the clock, and i got 119mph out of the old girl.

I don't do it too often though. The police over here don't like it.
