Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows if there is any way to fit a 426 Hemi intake manifold onto a Ford 429 Thunderjet. I saw someone on the internet that put a "Mopar Tri-Power" on a 429, and I was wondering if a Hemi intake can be modified to fit. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -Best Regards, Dean

Re: 426 Hemi intake on a Ford 429?
anything is possible. i thing a machine shop should be able to mill you up something. it will probly be costly but it could work.

Re: 426 Hemi intake on a Ford 429?
Ideally, the intake runners need to be matched to the cylinder heads. The Ford 429 had nice big round intake ports. The Mopar ones are rectangular. You would end up with a port mismatch, after the $1200 machine work and fabrication bill.
Besides, you are best off with the newest intake maniold designs, rather than rehashing 35 year old designs. |

a good "new" intake will probably cost less, and give
better performance .... |
