Silverstone

Since we've just seen the standard the Bahrain Grand Prix Circuit has set and the apparently raising of the bar that will be presented by the Chinese Shanghai Grand Prix Circuit.
Isn't it about time that shit holes like Silverstone get their acts together and reinvest in the tatty run-down pieces of shit so that they don't look like fools on the world stage.

Note this doesn't apply to just Silverstone (I'm in the UK its alright i can take the piss out of Silverstone as much as I want because its a fucking disgrace) it applies to all the circuits in Europe.

It would be a shame to lose F1 in Britain next year just because no one will fix the sheds called Garages and the lame stands. (They're also charging £200 just to go see the F1 at the 3rd rate venue)

Note that the (apparent) third world countries have the most technologically advance modern F1 circuits. Hooray for Oil! Bahrain was brilliant.

Re: Silverstone

Silverstone publicity stunt. A Part of the Center of london is to be closed to alow formula one cars to do a couple of laps around a circuit that has already been designated. I'm going and i'm taking a camcorder and digital camera. So I'll post up some pics. Note it is also free entry.

Would be interesting to have London as a special stage one season... Give them a year to sort Silverstone out (as if).

I mean it's an unrealistic dream but there you go.

Looking forward to seeing the pictures. I should go myself... Sigh.

Silverstone and Imola are in the most imminent danger because of the facilities and other political hee-haw.

Which is a shame. Silverstone and Imola are two classic tracks. Imola's problem is that it's too narrow and the chicanes interrupt passing zones. Silverstone is just getting tired out (plus Bernie and the BRDC hate each other).

I'd honestly like to see the British Gran Prix moved back to Brands Hatch (I love watching the BTCC run there) and they need to amputate the suck out of Imola by taking out those chicanes.

Re: Silverstone

NSX-R-SSJ20K have you ever been to silverstone ??? or are your comments based purely on para phrasing Eccelstone's views from the news papers and motoring press???

because at the end of the day i dont see any "motorsport" fan in the uk complaining about the venue as long as they get a burger for less then £4, a clean toilet, a good spot to stick their camping chair at 5am sunday morning, good race program (yes there are other races past F1)and a rare thing in modern day Formula 1 A GOOD RACE.

who i do see complain on monday morning after theyve sobered up are those that havent paid for their tickets, but then again probably havent watched the race though they were there.

anyway the whole Bernie and the BRDC boils down to the fact he obviously wants just 1 person to push around and not the large group of members the BRDC is.
