97 z34 service engine light

i have a 97 monte carlo z34, 80,000 miles and i like my car, the problem is, when i idle around a corner my power steering goes out, this only happens when i turn right at idleing speeds, not really sure what that problem is , but then a day later the service engine light comes on, as far as i know the car is good running shape, i keep it serviced regulary and it has no running problems that i see, any help on the power steering and the service light problems whether related or not would be appreciated thanx

I believe your car has recently been recalled for the power steering cut-out issue. Symptoms sound identical.
