oil change frequency

Hello, I'm new to the forum and have a question on oil change frequency.
I have a Ford Escape 2003 and drive it very little. It has been 6 months
since my last oil change and only put 1,600 miles on it. The oil looks and smells like it did 6 months ago. It is the 3.0L V6 type that uses a 80-20
syn. mixture. Should I change it anyway ? The car is 15 months old and
has a total of 3,632 miles on it. The oil has been changed 2 times so far.
Thanks in advance for any help........Vince

Re: oil change frequency

I'd go with whatever it says in the manual.....My 94 Bronco was every 5000 miles...period.....so every 5000 miles I changed it, regardless of time (days, months, etc.)

Thanks for the input, sounds good. My manual says 5,000 or 5 months.
