1987 cabrio speedo out...

My friends '87 wolfsberg edition cabrio's speedometer does not work. but all the other guages do, could it be a fuse?
can anyone give me a link to any informative sites for this car?

Does the odometer work? If so it's an internal speedo problem. That should be a cable driven speedometer, make sure ithe cable hasn't pulled loose or broken. They were bad to break at the ERG/O2 counter box where the cable goes through the firewall.

ALthough it's been a while since the initial post, I feel obligated to note my speedometer issue in case someone else is looking for assistance. I have a 200 Cab, and the speedometer has now broken four time over the last four months. It seems to stop working when the car goes over 70 mph. The speedometer drive gear snaps, and has to be replaced. I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this. Is it matter of how the drive gear is installed, or is it related to the speed sensor, and how the sensor may not be working, and force the drive gear to be torgued to tight.
