Question about the Exhaust

I’ve got a problem. I like the straight exhaust, but I prefer the one with an angle in it. More or less like the Apexi N1. On the picture below you can see what I mean.

I don’t want to buy the Fujimi one, because it’s a bit to small in my opinion. Now I’ve tried to figure out how I should create it, but I just don’t know how. Does somebody know a way to do it???

Re: Question about the Exhaust

Whoops forgot something!!!
Maybe it was clear for some people already, but it needs to be out of aluminium.

Re: Question about the Exhaust

so is that going up? or going up on an angle to the side?
hmmm aluminuim that might be hard, cus if it was plastic u could just heat it and bend it, u could just try bending it with a some sort of tool maybe....

sorry but this is abit off topic but could u post pics of the apexi N1 exhuast

Re: Question about the Exhaust

does that outer tub need to be tight to the other tube? other wise you can take a bit bigger tube outside and then just put the other tube something like this.

and then putt putty to make it stay there....

Re: Question about the Exhaust

Here's a picture of the N1, you can't see the angle on this picture, but believe me, it's there. U can use the angle in al kinds of ways as long it's not going down of course

The idea of Anton is nice but the reason I want to use aluminium is because of the shine. U can't realise that with paint so...
Bending the aluminium is also very hard to do because it will nod. Even with a tool, because U need a huge force to bend... I'm working on a idea by the way. Will post it ASAP.

Re: Question about the Exhaust

If you are worried about the shine use plastic and hit it with Aclad II and it will look exactly like Aluminum.

Re: Question about the Exhaust

A huge force to bend aluminium? I'm no strongman and aluminium rods bend easily enough for me. Trouble might be getting the bend to be immediate enough.

As for not being able to replicate the shine with paint, check out the GSI Creos Mr Super Metallic Plate Silver thread!

Re: Question about the Exhaust

It cost me a day of thinking but I've got the idea. Check this out:

The inner pipe is cut down in an angle. A small pipe of a larger diameter is glueed on top of it. Finish it smoothly and you have a beautifull exhaust!!!
Great idea of the paint. Unfortunely it was created just a little later then this thread I have to get that immediately.

No i dont believe you, because the exhaust tip is not just bent, the whole exhaust just goes angled out. Trust i know, my brother has that exhaust on his car.

Well never mind. I've seen a Impreza model '98 with an tuner exhaust and it was bend. It looked awesome so I wanted to create one myself for my scale cars. I thought it was an Apexi, but if you say so...

Thats easy, you guys are making it much more complicated than it needs to be.

Take your tube, cut it at 30degree angles like the picture below. Wah-Lah.

Slap the new cut piece on to the end of another tube.

Re: Question about the Exhaust

I know the exhaust your talking of. Its called a dtm style. oval or round can muffler and the tip comes out, then aims up a lil bit. I was going to get one for my car, but I changed my mind. It's quite simple to make. btw, check out http://www.spc.com/ Its run by Hiroboy (steve) and on it theres a page for tuner exhaust and a way to get the angled tip.
