Should I get this MR2?

I found a 91 mr2 turbo, it has 112000 miles on it

My question is, how durable are mr2 engines? I plan to keep it as my every day car, but the only thing bothering me is the high mileage? will it die out on me in a few years?

the car is mostly stock, just an intake and suspension mods
also it says "upgraded rebuild turbo from Turbonetics".. gotta check more on that

i hope to take a look at the car soon, what kinds of things should i look out for to tell if the engine/turbo is in good condition?

Re: Should I get this MR2?

high mileage is relative. a 13 year old car with 112,000 miles has been driven less than 9,000 miles a year (if my math is right). that makes it relatively low mileage. unless you find one thats been garaged, id say its pretty low.

in answer to your second question, theres people with significantly more miles than that running consistant 12s and better, with the block never opened...

Re: Should I get this MR2?

I bought Hyde with 180,000 miles.
He now has over 196,000 miles and no problems.

It all depends on how the car was maintained.
