Re: 2200 to 2.4
Not worth the effort... You would be better off turbocharging the 2200. Your talking 4 grand for 30HP....

Re: 2200 to 2.4
Well i wouldnt turbo the 2200, swapping for the LD9 would be a better idea. This motor has alot more potention then the crappy 2200. But you would need a ld9 longblock and all the wireing ecm related things. Which im sure you could get for less the 4 grand. You would run a mid 15 compared to a low to mid 17.

Re: 2200 to 2.4
????? ^ your insane... A stock 2200 runs 17's....Turbocharged with internals you would kill any stock 2.4....

So you would destroy any z24 with a turboed 2200? Then what? In all acuality it would be easier to find a z24 buy that then modd that motor and make it faster then any 2200 could ever hope to be FI or N/A. |

i actually spoke to one of the guys at CavalierConnection.com and he told me that it would be a good idea and turbocharge the 2200. he said that their turbo kit produces 80hp and 2200s can handle that with stock internals. he said that i can get alot more if i forged the bottom end.

Re: 2200 to 2.4
You can spend a couple grand and get 30 HP more with the 2.4 and still only have what anyone with a Z has or you could Turbo the 2200, have 180HP and have a Turbocharged Cav.

Re: 2200 to 2.4
Why am I a waste of time? The 2200 are limited in their potential as a modified engine. This is why I believe the LD9 would be a better option for performance. You could easily make a LD9 have 180hp with basic bolt-ons, and even more with some good headwork.
