420a block engine/nitrous
To start off please don't flame or tell me to sell my car and get a gs-t or gsx. What I am planning on doing is to put a Nitrous kit in my car with the engine it has right now. Which I would like to know what I should get and what it can handle. I want to start slowly building a new engine from the block up. I want the engine to have the most performance to drivability ratio possible. Then with the nice engine I will turbo. What does everybody recommend besides getting a new car.
Thankz |

well if your planning to do nitrous right away...
1. S-AFCII 2. 190lph fuel pump 3. Bigger injectors... 450cc or 550cc will be perfect even when you turbo it they are still fine! 4. ARP head bolts 5. 75 shot Wet kit would do the job! then once you get old with that! 6. cams, valves, and springs 7. rods and pistons 8. turbo! |

I want to build the new engine from the ground up. Where can I get a new block?

Re: 420a block engine/nitrous
I am having a hard time finding those heat bolts or any for that matter for my GS.

Re: 420a block engine/nitrous
so a 4g63 gsx n2o is ok with the stock internals? i was wondering about that.. i heard 20 shot per cyl. so 75 would be max?

yes nitrous will work with your 4G63T motor... just i wouldnt use it at full boost, use it until 3-3500 rpm or you will have the chance at blowing the motor, for the kit, i would stick with either a 35-55 shot, 75 is pretty big for a stock turbo motor!!! and get some fuel controls and injectors, also dont get a dry kit, worse for the motor cause its straight nitrous, get a wet kit!!! safer and more power.

Re: 420a block engine/nitrous
i'll mess with it when i get dsmlink.

thats a good idea... plus i think DSMlink has a setting for nitrous, very helpful, allows it to kick in at WOT then it shuts off as soon as you hit a certain amount of boost that you set! i'm planning on using it on my GST as soon as i get DSMlink!

420a block engine/nitrous
Doesnt the SAFC advance timing????....and advanced timing and NO2 do not mix....????....if i am wrong correct me but to my believe the SAFC advances timing.....Which brings me to another point for that kid that was talking about NO2, get your timing checked before you install NO2

Re: 420a block engine/nitrous
I was thinking of instead of getting a SAFC to get one of those aftermarkter ecu's that let u control everything(not a dsmlink
no turbo)

the S-AFC is not to advance the timing here... its to tell the ECU there is more air (when really its nitrous) coming into the engine so the injectors spray more fuel! so when the nitrous hits the combustion chamber its evenly mixed with fuel... which is safer for the motor and will extend the life of the engine!
