Cool civic

hi,

im new here.
i also have lots of questions to ask but cant remeber all. Well i have a couple in mind right now and here they are. I know civic are the most popular car to soup up. Well im just wondering most pple who soupe up for the racing on the streets or just car shows. Do most of them do an engine swap for the double cams? Also if they do, Where are the most of the engine from Accords, acuras?

Thank you

Re: civic

If you want power you're going to have to swap. The three that are most common are B16A, B18B and B18C. The B16 you can get from the Del Sol VTEC and 99-00 Civic Si and also from JDM Civics. B18B is from RS, LS, GS Integras and the B18C1 is the USDM Integra GSR and B18C is from the JDM Integra SiR-G. For more indepth stuff, check out the sticky up top. Meh...some people are sometimes for show and no go. Others are the total opposite. Depends what you want.

Dont know about Accord engines on Civics but Ive seen some Civics with H22's I think. It will be too heavy IMO. If you want a swap, you could go with B-series. Hassport even did the K20 swap for your generation of Civic, but on a hatch.

And NO, dealerships dont sell aftermarket engines like the JDM ones. Im not too sure about the original USDM engines but the dealer I go to dont sell JDM's. Tuner shops are usually the ones who sell them. Or most of the time...off the internet.

They do make them now...around $600 I think.

I think what Ace$nyper was saying was that its more work for a 6th gen compared to the 7th gen. Im not too sure if done on the 7th gen will have a lot of work. Its also a big time rip-off for no because the K20's are too expensive for now compared to the b-series.
