Yeah, Bafta is a good site. It's a japanese exporter, so the car has to be legalized once it arrives in the US.
However, often you can find better total prices (car+shipping+conversion) since you only pay the conversion cost to Motorex, instead of their vehicle price.

Thanks alot for the info! I was just wondering do sites like Bafta, Konei, and cineaction have plans of monthly payments? Or do you have to give them the whole amount in one shot?

I've heard that you gots to send some certain amount of money first so they can put the car on hold i think and then pay the rest right away so they can ship you the car. After that, the car is not the dealer's responsability and they will not do anything for you to legalize the car in ur country, it's up to you. For further info, go read the Q/A, they explain more than what i can

When you buy a GTR through them, can you make plans with Motorex to have them take delivery or is it up to you to take delivery and then bring it to Motorex? Also, how do you deal with customs by not going directly through Motorex?

Yes there ok but kinda pricey. If your looking to import id recommend J's garage they 're very friendly and well help you through everything.
Here's the site www.J-garage.com Another is komies or monky's they very good to and very cheap.

Thanks Man! Actually I didn't find the prices at BAfta to be very different from J's, but they would probably help you alot more through the process than Bafta. I have one quick question. How would the Car get to MOTOREX for legalization? Would I tell the Company to ship it there staright to Motorex, or what would I do?

Re: Anybody heard of Bafta
Well usually you would tell the importing company (ex. j'sgarage) to ship it to the U.S an importing company usaully handels the customs fileing. An import MUST be filed to customs. Then once that is done then you give motorex the importing company's name. motorex will probly contact them and find out the cars arrival and where and what port the car will come in.
Then motorex will legalize it and you have a nice skyline. (A tip if a dealer aka importing company says they will not provide shipping or handel the paper work and make you have to pay extra for a shipping company to do it Dont buy from them) shipping is about 500-1500 dollars if the import company does not include shipping. The worst is if you have to file through customs (its the biggest headache in the world). This might seem like alot of info but trust me once you see how easy the steps are it gets pretty simple. heres another site there really cheap (monkys) http://www.monkys.jp/e/ Any other ?'s just let me know

Any RI may convert a Japanese car, you just have to find one that can or will. Go to NHTSA's website and get the list of registered importer and start calling around. Here's the current list as of March 2004:
http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/...t03012004.html Now, the problem is that RHD vehicles have to be specified as being allowed in under the vehicle eligibility list: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/...LIG102803.html The Skyline is the only RHD allowed in the US if you look at that list. That means that any RHD vehicles imported must be converted/crash tested and shown to fit US safety laws. Then once that is done, you may get one converted and US road legal. In other words, it's really not worth it in my opinion.

No they only do skylines. Any other would be pointless cause there are already U.s supras etc.
