Lol listen dude the Probe GT would eat the 3000GT alive, Idc what yall say it will. Slightly modded meaning CAI and exhaust Im guessing right? the Probe is lighter and also has a better engine in my opinion JDM or the 165hp Domestic one. Oh and by the way a Probe GT stock could stick with my V6 Camaro and a SL and a 98+ V6 Camaro run basically the same. well when ever I raced one it was even. But yeah Ide put my money on the Probe heh a probe is labled a ford but its a mazda inside. People have the wrong conception of a probe since its a ford. It will out handle a SL and out Run it.

i'm not much of a probe fan, but it does have a greater advantage over the GT because of it's weight, it's size will give it it's handleing ability, so it's a bit of a challenge...

a probe gt is not as fast as an eclipse gst it can not run the 1/4 mile in 15.2 it does not have 222hp and it will not beat a 3kgt sl wich has 222hp against your weak 165hp. and v6 maro's and stangs are slow as all hell!! my friend has a slightly modded v6 stang and he would still have a hard time ruinning with a sl. it is a honda killer but thats about were it stops.

I'd go with the SL. I don't know if you guys bothered to actually compare times on the 1/4, but I just did. Now ordinarily I would say go out and race the damn thing, but just to let Zanark know what an SL does, here's what I came up with.
I found a page of time slips posted by a guy with a Probe Gt with intake and exhaust...later Nitrous. But as you can see:

he ran 15.4-16.3 over 11 different runs with GReddy exhaust and different intakes. With nitrous he got into the 14s. The SL runs low 15s-high 14s stock....quite a few members in this forum will attest to that, Nesryn being one of them. So you tell me who is eating who alive?

and the damn probe has the same exact engine as my moms contour only my moms contour has 170hp v6 24 valve and all, i barely and i mean basrely beat a eclpise gs there is no way in hell that probe will outrun a sl with just exhaust and a cone wich gives it no more than 10hp, WOW now i could beat the gs by 3/4's of a car length.

And how the hell can a Stock SL get into the high 14's stock with only 222hp o_O? Any way lol its just my opinion hell Idk who would really win honestly Idc this is all in good fun convo. 222hp gets it into high 14s with good traction, a good driver, pretty good gearing and aerodynamics....And the most important...TORQUE, 205ft/lbs of it. Hp and weight aren't everything...if they were...there would be no need to race, we could just all break out our calculators and figure whose car is dominant in alot safer a way...the point is that the SL has been proven to run that stock. The probe isn't capable of it.
I'm with youngvr4 on this one...V6 mustangs and v6 camaros are slow...their missin 2 cylinders...

The Probe is should have the word 'anal' in front of it because thats all its worth. The Anal Probe is a slow, underpowered car that can barely pass out of creeper mode. The SL will out pace, out run and totally out class it in every aspect.

The idea that a Probe can destroy a V6 Mustang is like saying a heaping pile of swage can overtake a fresh pile of menure. - its not saying much.

does nobody notice that i was the 3000/stealth national gathering second place fwd trophy winner thats against blown and bottled beasts and i have neither, i have expertise racing the and theres no way there gonna take us out unless as i said before they have the jdm engine which is pretty out there as well considering a 3000 with the same money will annihilate it, just my $.02
