Question Vertical/suicide doors...

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to create custom vertical or suicide doors for a 99 Honda Civic. I have heard that you can buy things from a hardware store that will alow you to create vertical doors but i just can't seem to think up a posibility for this. If anyone has a step by step process or a link to a webpage or anything it would be great. I just want to save myself $2000 for the vertical door kit.

Re: Vertical/suicide doors...

if you want to save yourself the money from buying a custom door kit, then get your car and drive it into a swimming pool !!!! cause thats how wet your interrior is gonna be with a homemade kit !!! Its gonna leak, whistle from air when going down the road and will have trouble closing right. There is a reason why the kit is so expensive and teh sites say " reccomended for pro install ". i dont know why people never understand this stuff..sorry man not trying to be mean,,its just stop and think about it..! If you want verticle doors or scuicide doors then you need to buy the actual fabricated kit for your model vehicle from a reputable place..and pay the going ammount, otherwise just dont do it. because you will be devistated when your car is straight fucked because you went and messed with it..ya know

Re: Vertical/suicide doors...

I wouldnt buy shit from NOPI..completely overrated !!! and I dont even know what crap manufacturer they carry, but I just hate dealing with those fools. If I was gonna order one i would get it from VERTICLEDOORS.COM ! They manufacture thier kits for each make and test for precise operability..i have seen their kits in action and have not heard of any probloms as of yet..Thats my reccomendation anyways

Don't by shit from Verticaldoors.com. They bootlegged Decah's design. Decah was the first to come out with the VDC. Vertical Doors is owned by the same guy who owns Bodykits.org (His name is Igor). If you aren't familier with them, they make their money by ripping off bodykit designs and selling cheap knock-offs (Ground Designs Black Widow = Spyder Kit, Bomex =BMX, Bigmouth = Bigman, etc). You may not realize it, but I am sure you have seen there products around. They are usually the ones we are warning people on here will fit like shit. Anyways, He orginally got a full sponsorship from Decah. He promised to get Decah name and coverage. Well, he got his car in the Meguires Ad (the one with the JDM front Type-r). After that he asked Kevin (one of Decahs owners) if he could be the offical online retailor thur his site. Kevin said yes, giving him access to the parts directly from the warehouse. He ordered many of the Decah VDC's and started selling them under the name VertcialDoors, INC. He claimed to be the first. The Orginal Vertical doors kits where actually Decah kits, they even said Decah on them. When Kevin found out, he pulled the plug on their abilty to get them...but too late...they got someone else to make it for them. Their orignal ad in the July 2003 Issue of HCI (one of the first ads they had) featured ALL DECAH CARS the "www.decah.net" decal was visual on several windshields. It was visual reversed on Austin S's Green Integra from Jacksonville. The ad also had 3 other Fully Sponsered Decah cars in it....Steve K from Georiga Baby Blue Civic Coupe and Dan Callhoun from New Jeserys Kandi Blue Hatch (the one from the Import Tuner Cover). They eventaully changed the ad to have different cars and the website. They actaully changed it because I kept calling them up and asking them why they were using Decah Cars in their ads. Everything they would tell me was a bold faced lie. At the time, I had no connection with Decah. I was just a consumer who was very upset. What if I were sponsered and they illegally used my car in their ads? That would make me look like a bad canidate for sponsership for other companies, plus that was a lot of money to spend. I wanted to know why they were doing this crooked and shady stuff. Maybe some people don't understand, but I hate dishonesty more than anything, and as a consumer, I wanted to know why they did that. When I finally cornered them, they again chaged story. They are just like used car salesmen.

If you want a Lambo Door Kit, check out
www.decah.net

They come out with the orginal bolt on Vertical Door Conversion over 2 1/2 years ago. Each kit is also made for Each application (I.E, A Celica kit is made for a Celica, a Civic Kit for the Civic, etc). I can tell you right now, any issues you have with it is due to a dumb installer, if you do it right, it will seal and close looking exactly stock.

You can also call them at 609-716-7385. Ask for Kevin.

I researched it myself. I called Vertical Doors up the first time I saw their ad and asked them if they were Decah, since Decah cars were in their ad. They proceeded to feed me a half hour of bull-sh*t. This really upset me. I hate liers, theives and cheats more than anything, and they were all 3. Plus they treated me like I was dumb. That really upset me, so I was determined to get to the bottom of it all. They probably figured I was some dumb kid. I'm not some dumb kid with mom and dads money. I am a 24 year old college studeent and I pay for my stuff myself. I work hard for my money. I want to know exactly what is up and where my money is going before I spend it. I had been looking into Lambo doors for years, since long before it was avaible as a bolt-on. I'd talked to Decah many times in the 2 years they had been around, so I knew the facts and truths about them, the VDC, etc...and Vertical doors was lying their asses off. Vertical doors tired to tell me they were the first, even though they were a new company and decah had been around for a long time...corner them on that and they changed the topic. They claimed they weren't Decah cars in the ad, and when I pressed em, saying you could see www.decah.net accross the windsheild, they admitted it and said it was a "mistake" and changed it...of course, still decah cars. They eventually changed it again after I called back and bitched more. This really upset me, as it was very dishonest. I started to look into things and discovered they were owned by the same guy who owned bodykits.org. Furthermore, I knew his car was fully sponsered by Decah when Decah first came up. He was one of Decah's 4 orginal fully sponsered people. I called them up like 4 times talking to them. They confirmed to me on the phone they were owned by the same person eventually. If you look at the ads in HCI for example, bodykits.org, vertical doors, and a 3rd body kit "company" are all in a row in consecutive pages, and are all listed in advetisers index as "vertical doors." Every time I called them, it was a lie or some changed story. Every time I cornered them, they'd change it again. When I mentioned the name of a guy I know who'd done a custom conversion himself back in 99 (Robbie Potts), they tried to tell me "his kit was crap and thiers was better." I was like, WTF...it's not a kit, it was custom work he did himself, and beilve me, no bolt on kit is better than his custom job. It took him 1 full year to prefect his custom conversion. He designed it off of actual lamborgini specs. Again, I threw his name out there becuased I'd talked to him several times the last few years so I knew the truth and facts, and I wanted to see what story they came up with. Anyways, I basically found all this out through good old fashioned investigative research. As I said, I hate liers, thieves and cheats. If something feels wrong, I'll resaearch it and figure the truth out myself sooner or later. Maybe they thought they could dupe 9 out of 10 people...well I was that one guy who doesn't tolerate lying and I researched it myself. It took a little while to gather all the facts, etc, but I am glad I did. Companies like that make me sick.
