Leaking dash?!!

First time poster here. Thanks for having me. I have a '72 Skylark and I have been getting a puddle on my driver's side floormat every time it rains. I pulled the plate off of the bottom of the steering column and that is where the rain is dripping in from...more specifically, from the left side by where the wiper switch is. I can't see anything obvious as to what may be causing this or where it is originating from. Has anyone else had this problem or know where to look for the source of the trouble? I checked my 72 Buick chassis/repair manual ( the phonebook-sized one) and couldn't find anything there, either. Help! I live in Northeast Ohio (unfortunately) and it is getting mighty soggy here.

My 71 is the same

I traced my leak to a worn window seal. I used some clear bathroom caulk, and made a fine bead all around the glass where the moulding meets. In heavy rains, I only get a bit of water on the driver floor. Solution is to pull the sheild and replace the seals.
