99' speedo only works above 60 km/hr
Truck is 99 dodge 250 4x4 quad cab, automatic, fully loaded. Problem is that the speedometer only works after the vehicle hits around 60 km/hr or 40 mph roughly. Then it works fine all the way up to 120 and beyond I imagine. Then when you slow down and go below the magical 60 barrier, it drops right off to 0 again. I also noticed that the auto lock feature for the power door locks is set at 60 km/hr. As soon as the doors auto lock at 60, the speedo starts to work. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Anyhelp is greatly appreciated.

Re: 99' speedo only works above 60 km/hr
I had the same problem with my '99 1500 QuadCab. I think it was a bad speed sensor. It's funny that you described the exact problem I had, right down to the same speed!

Re: 99' speedo only works above 60 km/hr
thanx for the tip Stang. I replaced the speed sensor in the rear diff and it works perfect now. The sensor had a little crack in it which made it sit at a bit of an angle iside the diff.
