Talking Hey everyone....I've entered the bird family

Whats goin on guys.... well just today i got handed over my moms 1996 thunderbird 4.6L.... my previous cars were a honda civic sedan and a 91 240sx..... so the bird is a big step up for me......
It's a 96 ... has 67xxx miles , white , xenon body kit all around, chromed oem wheels , navy / teal cloth interior.....one problem though.... I want more power... I'm not looking to supercharge it and such just i/h/e etc...strictly bolt on.....no internal. Can you guys recommend some awesome bolt ons such as cool air intake , header etc.....and list some online stores that carry these. Ive been told i should go with a mac cool air....what do you guys think. I have 1000 bucks to spend and im going down do get a full exhaust done this week. What kind of gains can i expect with a full catback exhaust? Will it be worth the $. I'm real excited to start putting money into this thing i think it's sick. So all suggestions will be greatly appreciated THANKS in advance

The catback will help a little, but not as much as your probably thinking. First I would get a computer chip and a shift kit. And be proud to own a T-bird especially a 4.6. I love mine.

search tccoa.com for the jerry mod, or better know as the j-mod transmission mod.

Go for some underdrive pulleys from march performance. They cost around 100 bux.And they're very effective. For more info visit http://www.marchperf.com/pg32.html .Those will usually fit your car perfectly.

Yes, autos get shift kits.... Do the JMod as suggested.
Kooks makes headers.
3.55 or 3.73 gears.
PI heads.
Dual plane intake.

Search www.tccoa.com. They will have much more thorough answers.

Ya a shift kit you know a better firmer shift. Man newbs(lol). Either the Jmod or the elecronic shift improver by B&M depending on how serious you are.
