engine swap

Can a 95 escort LX 1.9 engine be swaped with the escort GT 1.8 and would it be a direct bolt up. also what all would i need off the GT model to put on the LX with the engine. Or whats another engine that i could put in there that would be bolt up. i know that the 2.0 can. but i would rather have the 1.8 but need to know if it bolts straight up.

Re: engine swap

Yes the 1.8 will "bolt up" as long as you have the GT tranny, axcel's, mounts and every thing under the hood of a GT, like wiring harness and computer...Just get a complete 1.8 GT Doanor car for all the parts your gonna need.
