anyone ever ran straight pipes on a cavalier?

I was watching Monster Garage last night, and i saw they had a Scion xB (the boxy one). They fired it up with straight pipes and it sounded pretty mean. I was just wondering what a cavalier with a 2.2L might sound like.

that sound is so annyoing man put your muffler back on. it's a cavalier not a damn civic. my friend ran straight pipes on his sunbird it sounded umm... lame. so yea, just get a flowmaster muffler or somthing like that that will make it sound just fine.

I once had a '00 Cavy and ran straight pipes with a Monza tip on the end of it. It was cool at first, but I got so friggin annoyed with it, then I put a regular muffler back on. It sounded SOOOOO much better.

Re: anyone ever ran straight pipes on a cavalier?

My Cav has the 3.1 and I took out the cat and knocked the muffler straight inside. It sounds really good but we are talking about a V6 compared to the 4 cylinder. For the most part 4 cylinders that go straight sound like a hyped up dirtbike.

Not the sound you want. LOL.

why do people think that sounds good??? anyone who knows even a little about cars knows that sounds retarted. come on stop trying to turn your cavaliers into ricers. its an american car. if you dont have muffler PUT IT BACK ON!!!!!! people laugh at you!!! it makes you look like a tool. and it sounds dumb.
