1991 Cherokee ABS Light

Just bought a used Cherokee 1991 and the only problem with it is, an ABS light that won't go off and having to stand on the brake for it to stop. I'm thinking an ABS pump issue..any suggestions (not a cheap part)

Wink Re: 1991 Cherokee ABS Light

You are correct. I had the same problem with my ABS Pump Motor Assy. That part is a recall item and the dealership will fix it for free. I've had mine changed 2 times. They will change it regardless of mileage or amount of owners. Have your dealer research it as it is an old recall (1994?) but they will still do it. Mine was preformed at Greenwich (Connecticut) Chrysler/Jeep if you have problems with your local dealer. The recall number is 733. Pump motor part number R2007515. They will have to order the part and schedule an appointment. Good Luck!
