Question 17" tires for Trans Am 2001

Hello dear y'll,
i'm about to change my rims and tires, so i need to buy new tires, i live in north california, San Francisco, so we don't have snow here.
I need some good quality/"middle" quality tires, i wanna feel comfortable friving with these tires, and i wanna feel comfortable when i do racing.
so i need something good in the middle, or beggining of something more that just good
Any suggestions, links, etc are welcome :flash:
Thank you very much

The Number 1 tire for your Trans Am is the Firehawk SZ50 EP. It has a 340 treadwear rating which is exceptionally high for a performance tire. The wet traction is outstanding. I also know a few hundred people who autocross and track drive these tires without any problems because of its progressive nature.

The Firestone technologies used to develop and produce the Firehawk SZ50 EP is called "UNI-T AQ,"
which stands for "Ultimate Tire Technology, Advanced Quality." UNI-T incorporates innovative beads,
unique carcass shapes and tread designs that are tuned for performance and comfort. The AQ
technology that enhances worn tire wet traction is actually inside the tread. The Firehawk SZ50 EP has
a unique Dual-Layer Tread which has two rubber compounds, one layered on top of the other. As the
top layer wears to about half tread depth, it begins to expose the underlayer which offers even more
wet grip. This helps reduce the natural tendency for a tire's wet traction to decline as the tread's groove
depth wears away. The Firehawk SZ50 EP keeps wet traction up, even as its tread wears down.
