Re: Importing

Skylines from 1996-up currently cannot be legalized for use in the US. This may change in the future. Just stick with your VR4 for now.

Re: Importing

I think that there must be import restrictions that differ between the GTR, GTS, and the GTST. I think that what VQuick was saying applies to the GTR. I could be wrong. I was one other time. I bought a pencil with an eraser on it once.

I hate to burst your bubble, but you need to get back on the phone and see if the car can be made legal or not.

Legalizing and importing are two very different things. Like I said earlier, this may change, so hopefully you'll get a different answer.

Re: Importing

VQuick when I called MotoRex I asked if all the versions of Skylines could be imported AND legalized, the guy I talked to said yes. So I did check my facts, like I said before sorry to burst your bubble

Re: Importing

That is not possible. I called motorex the other day to ask when the OBDII stuff would be done and they said give them another 2-3 months. They can be legalized.....but not at this time. They havent figured out how to change the OBDII yet.

Thank you. Tyndago aka Sean Morris(Used to work with Motorex, now with RB Motoring), isn't posting here much nowadays, but he is still at Freshalloy.com. Over there, he hasn't said anything to the effect that Motorex has figured out how to get around the OBD2 issue for 96+ Skylines yet.

Not ALL versions of Skylines can be imported an legalized. The car that started this subject cannot for one simple reason. It's a four door. That's what stopped mine from going back. When JK Motoring crash tested the Skylines for Motorex, they never crash tested any four doors. So, if you want to get a 4 door imported, you have to find an RI that will do the mods, at least one crash test (obviously means you have to import 2 cars at least) and get the car legalized. All I can say is good luck and I hope you have a big bank account.

i heard from a the DOT and motorex, that you need to crash test 3 of the same model cars to get exact results for charting what needs to be done. so...4 cars minnimum.

Re: Importing

But still not the fact that its OBDII. Still cant be legalized. Give motorex a couple of months and they should be good to go. They said by the end of this year OBDII will be figured out.
