Clock Backlight Dead!!!

Hey all,

I bought a 2001 Accord V6 EX last week and I absolutely love it. The first night I drove it however, I noticed that the backlight of the clock was dead. Is this a fuse? Or a bigger problem? Also, are the cruise control/Audio buttons on the steering wheel supposed to light up at night when the lights are turned on?

Thanks.

Cant really offer advice on the first part of your post, but if that is the only light not currently working I would guess its not a fuse? Not sure on this at all, but I would hazard a guess that it would not have its own fuse, but rather share the circuit with some other electrical in the dash.

As for the second part of your post I can offer the answer for that and say no, they do not light up...

Well, at least mine dont?!?

Maybe mines busted!

G'luck with the clock though!

*Afterthought*
Wait, clock backlight? Ive never paid attention, but I want to say that I do not recall my clock being lit up in the evening. But its one of those things I never really paid too much close attention to... I still have to update the time for daylight savings... meh... I will just wait till it is time to set it back then I will be good.

backlight

out of warranty huh? well here's the good news. what you want is called a "neo-wedge" know for going out frequently especially in cold weather. but your thinking is correct...new "bulb" and take heart, they are not too bad to replace, and you'll get alot of practice...

It is likely a bulb. I changed out one not long ago. Go to Honda and get the bulb (about $2-3 bucks). Also, if the light on the cruise control button goes out (the button on the left side of the dash), get the same bulb as the one on the clock. The cruise bulb at Honda is $11 bucks and all it has is a plastic green cover over the bulb. Just pull your old bulb out and take the cover off of it. And keep the $9.
