If you look at the SEMA website you can find information regarding add-ons and factory warraties. By law, the manufacturer cannot void your warranty because you put bolt on performance accessories on your car. That being said, there is an exception, if one of the bolt ons causes a failure, then the warranty will not cover it. So if you add a turbo or NOS or something of that manner, you have to be careful because that can cause problems and the warranty will not be honored.

Exhaust, intakes, brakes, wires, plugs, etc, this all can be added without worry of voiding your warranty. Dealerships are great at trying to say it can void your warranty, especially Ford dealers because they want to make money on the repairs. You should get a copy of the information from SEMA and then you have some defense in case this ever happens.

If you want to add things, the first thing I would suggest is a brake upgrade. The Focus is notorious for having crappy front brakes. The factory equipment is shoddy at best. I purchased a set of Brembo rotors, EBC pads from Ebay and they work great. I paid around $150 with shipping for them and then installed them myself.

The other thing I would suggest is a factory service manual. I got the full Ford Factory Service manual on CD from Ebay and its the same software the techs at the dealership uses. Its very useful when it comes to repair and add-ons.

Good Luck.

Brandon
