bored out throttle bodies

does anyone know much about the bored out throttle bodies you can get from proflowdesign?

http://www.proflowdesign.com/throttlebodies.html

I was seriously thinkin bout doin that, but I wanted to see if anyone else knew much about it. just a few questions really, whats involved in the installation? how badly should it decrease my gas mileage, if at all? what kinda performance boost would it give me? and would it be smart to install larger fuel injectors to handle the improved fuel:air mixture?

if anyone knows anything beside info from neweclipse.org, or the acual proflowdesign site, i'd really appreciate, THANKS!

Re: bored out throttle bodies

I have one. It gave me a 4hp gain, dyno proven by me and another Florida Club3G member on the same day and same dyno.

It will not decrease gas mileage and you will definitely not need injectors. Its only bored out an extra 2mm. Its not that big of a difference.

well, the bigger fuel injectors should give me a nice boost! I wonder if there is any way to have proflowdesign bore my throttle body out any bigger than 56mm???

I actually just found out, one of the people from proflowdesigns.com returned an email i'd sent them just last week, he'd stated just as you did rulez, no mileage decrease, anyhow - what i found out was that the 3g eclipse's throttle body could actually be bored out another .5mm but @ that point you'd have to enlarge your intake manifold.

Re: bored out throttle bodies

Do NOT get injectors. It will NOT give you a boost. These cars run rich from the factory. It will saturate your engine and you will lose performance.
