I need some help

I have 10,000 dollars to buy a new car. I am looking at a 3000gt, 300zx, and the new gti 1.8t. I need something cheep to keep running, and gas could become a factor. I need someting that wont break down every month. I want to know how they compare in performance. I know the gti has less power but is much lighter. I want a car that is easy and cheep to tune. Mostly I want to spank all these riced out civics and scare my friend with a 90 mustant 5.0 with 373 gears, shift kit, and cold air. I want to show him an import can keep up with his mustang.(at least till his new 400+hp engine is finished) If you have any other cars that would be that price and might fit what I am looking for tell me. Right now I am looking more toward the gti, but that could change. Thanks for your help

Re: I need some help

Um, well if you want cheap, go with the VW, if you want to race your friends mustang, go with a vr4 3000gt. Every week another person asks questions regarding the 3000gt vs. 350z or 300zx, I would take a look at the last few pages of posts. Or try using the search feature of this forum. In short, 3000gt is expensive on gas, insurance, parts....everything. The vr4 has 320hp stock and runs 13.6ish stock, for 500-1000 you can get it over 400hp and running high 12.8ish. The 3000gt SL is respectable with 222hp and high 14s low 15 1/4s. It will definantly beat those civics and such, but not your friends mustang. There are tons of cars out there that would work and fit your price range...I would suggest you narrow down what you want a bit more. The 3000gt is drastically different than a gti. Do you want to race alot, or do you want the luxury of being able to fit more than 2 people in your car? If you want to save money and drive your friends around...get a gti. If you want more bang for your buck, have money for insurance and gas then get the vr4. Sorry i didn't include anything at all on the 300zx, but I honestly don't know that much about them. Perhaps post this same question in that forum if you havn't already, just to get some of their opinions as well.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
