hey. i have a '98 S10 flareside, and i found a really good price on an LT1 engine and tranny for it, and i was wondering if anyone has done this conversion, or knows much about it? i'd like to get a list of all the parts i'd need for the swap, and get a rough idea how much it would cost. i am also interested in possibly getting a transfer case, and converting it to all wheel drive, to help keep traction with the bigger engine. has anyone ever converted a 2wd into a 4wd, and is there a whole lot involved in doing this? thanks a lot for any advice anyone can give

Re: LT1 Conversion
well as far as i kno you will need: wire harness for motor, computer, tranny, tranny crossmember, motor mounts from 2.8 and for the conversion, either conversion headers or stock manifolds, radiator, and you might need different acc. brackets...if you want to find out more info go to www.s10forum.com you will get loads if info from that site

Re: LT1 Conversion
I head that the Newer V6 engine mounts are in the same location as those on the LT1 engines.
