Automatic or Maunal??

I have been looking at some cars and I cant decide weather or not to get a stick or an automatic transmission. I want a stick but they are hard to find for a good deal. I see so many automatics out there for a good deal? Which do you guys think is better?

Re: Automatic or Maunal??

What year are you talkin about?
Do a search.. I think we just had a big argument about this recently... In MY opinion, manuals are always more fun, automatics are faster.. If you want a manual, ide wait until you found one..

AMEN!!

Auto = Stick... same speed. It's your personal preferance. If you like to play within powerbands and choose...then stick, but if you like to raw dog and floor it, then auto. Either are cool, but IMO i'd rather have a stick. I like to play...

Re: Automatic or Maunal??

trust me, you wont regret stick... unless you untterly hate the idea of being busy while driving, less talking on the phone, eating, smoking, playing with the radio, whatever. If you just like to sit back and know you don't want to worry aboutit, then dont. But I suggest you get one.

Re: Automatic or Maunal??

go with a stick, im sure either wont make a differnce with as much low and torque the ls1 has but my work truck is a 98 nissan fronteir with the 2.4 4 banger and i can tell you that if i dident have a 5 speed i wouldent be able to get out infront of traffic... so the less torque you got the more you need a stick.....but with that ls1 its all up to your preference. personally i would go with the stick, gives you more control.

Re: Automatic or Maunal??

I just got a 1998 z28 with the six speed manual. It is so much fun. The only modification so far is a K&N air filter. I even tend to get good gas milage. About 26 on the hwy and 18 in town. If I can keep my foot out of it. I am 23 and the insurance is out of this world. $220.00 a month, it would have been the same auto or stick. I agree with everyone else go with the 6sp manual it is so much more fun.
