I recently purchased a 2 door LT Tahoe. This is a great truck. I used to have a 76 K5 with Posi rears. This Tahoe however does not. I know that there is a manual 4x4 locker for the front axel. What can I doo frot the rear axel? Was a posi available for the 99's

99 Posi
Yes they did come with posi from the factory. Any Tahoe with the towing package (Z71) option on the build sheet will have it and 3.73 gears. But this will be the new generation of limited slip. If you jack it up and spin the tires, both tires won't spin like the old style posi units. These new units will only lock up if one tire or another looses 20-30% of its traction. So, it will be difficult to find a set up in the junk yard unless you can run the vin number to see if it has the limited slip. I am not sure if they make a Auburn unit for this year tahoe yet, but you could check.
