My 1997 dodge intrepid 3.5 L V6 is running hot. I've replaced the thermostat, water pump, fuel injector rails gaskets, plugs, flushed the radiator, checked all vacuum lines, upper and lower intake gaskets. It has plenty of power but after about 3 to 5 miles it runs hot. While idling it stays at the normal temp. It doesn't knock and there isn't water in the oil. Please Help!! MY JOB DEPENDS ON IT!!!

Re: running hot?? help!!!!! 97 dodge intrepid 3.5L
unplug your ect (engine coolant temp sensor) pigtail them together, turn the key on.... does the fan kick on... if they dont it could mean 1 of 2 things bad relay or fan motor..... if they do kick on..... replace sensor...

Re: running hot?? help!!!!! 97 dodge intrepid 3.5L
I think you should take 94DI's advice and bleed the coolant system (while at running temp and vehicle running). The bleeder is located on the top of the engine, in front of the plastic intake and looks like a brake bleeder. Pinch off your overflow and run your heater while bleeding your system. Do this until there is a steady stream. You do not have to open the valve alot.

Re: running hot?? help!!!!! 97 dodge intrepid 3.5L
radiator cap proper pressure?
Check for if the radiator fins clogged with leaves/debris, and hose off. Make sure fan kicks in.
