Brake lights not working....

Does anyone know how to check the wiring of the brake lights or how to solve my problem. I tried searching and I can't find anything about my problem. When I brake, there is no light, and no it is not the bulbs i checked them on another 240. The parking lights will come on if i turn on the light, but the brake lights wont' even come on. I checked all the fuses under the dash and all of them are fine. Please help me out, I dont' want to get pulled over for it....

I'd be FAR more worried about a vicious rear ending than a fix it ticket =(
If you're saying none of the break lights come on when you break, but the running lights do.. What you might want to do is check the pedals.

There should be something like a small switch with a black button towards the top of the break pedal that is pushed in by the pedal when the pedal is up, (it's tricky to find, look at the clutch pedal it has a similar one that is far more visible for a refrence) Make sure that when you push the break pedal in that button is released and not sticking in (if so lube it a little and it should go fine), if it doesn't come out on it's own, the circut that turns the break lights on stays broken, that might cause it. If that works fine, take a look at the wiring down there that comes out of the back of that (make sure nothing was kicked loose or broken or corroded). If still no luck try to take the swich off and clean it up, it might be a little corroded where the contact is made. Or you can probably pick a replacement one up at an auto shop for like 10 bucks.

When the said switch is pushed in by the pedal, it breaks the circut, when you push the break pedal down, the swich comes out and creates the circut that turns the break lights on. Have fun!

yea i searched that earlier and found out that i have to remove the steering column out of the way to see it. I am going to go check it out. I wasn't getting any signals to the brake light(have a tester). Thanks I'll let ya know peace

I got the brake lights to work now, but the top trunk light doesn't come on(the hatch light) and I am curious, what is the other switch next to the brake light switch attached to the brake pedal?
