why is my speedometer freaking out?
i have a 92 prelude si 4ws and a couple weeks ago i was drivin down the road when my speedometer just kept swingin back to 0 when i was doin like 40.
 it doesnt do it all the time but its anoying as hell, if anyone could let me know. thanks

same thing happened to my crappy 90 2.0 Si prelude, does the needle jump when you hit your dashboard, when you shift, or both?

in my 94 for a while my speedometer would work till about 30 then drop to 0. Then it stopped working all together, and then it started working again. Its pretty weird...I asked about it when it happened to me, and i only got a few responses, and nobody could really give me a clear answer...good luck

Don't quote me... but you guys should check your variable speed sensor (VSS). It is on your transmission near the firewall side. Unplug it and make sure the prongs are still there. Usually when the speedometer goes crazy something is up with the VSS, whether it's broken, malfunctioning, or missing a prong.

If it is a cable connection... like my 88' lude, it is a two piece cable... replace the cable and check the mating gear in the trans. and the speedo.

my 86 does that unless i have the e-break on (cables disconected) i cant figure out y but good luck w/ yers
