Re: location of sparkplugs on 96 camry LE v6

The other three are located toward the firewall. Hence the engine is not mounted like the conventional V6s of the good old days, they're mounted sideways. The belts face the passenger side fender, and the rear of the engine faces the driver's side fender, and as common knowledge has proven, an even amount of plugs in an engine are equal on both sides of the engine. So yeah, they're located near the firewall, I'm not exactly sure as what you can do to remove them. I think I remember hearing something about going from under the vehicle or something, but I'm sure someone else who has more experience with a Gen 3 will find this thread and help further than I have.

Well, you've probably figured it out by now. But I read the post and thought I would respond. You have to remove the throttle body to access the spark plugs nearest the firewall. I didn't believe it at first, but that's how I my manual said to do it. Also, I couldn't see any other way to do it. Thankfully the spark plugs don't have to be replaced very often.
