Replace a tail light on '86 Celebrity?

Seemed like it would be easy? I can't get at it. Automotive repair manuals are silent on the topic. Can anybody please help? Thanks

It should be held on by a bunch of plastic wing nuts in the trunk. There may be a trim panel inside that needs to be removed.

Re: Replace a tail light on '86 Celebrity?

My sister has an '87 celebrity.. and i remember having a hard time getting the taillight off.. i think there are little clips on the top part of the tail light that fasten it to the trunk part. I think i may have broken one of two, by just prying it off due to frustration.. and then just put a piece of tape to secure it fully, which was hidden by the trunk.

i know that in an 88 celebrity, theres only 1 nut in the trunk that holds the whole light assembly in place.
